“Listen to Colors”, an interactive musical art piece, allows viewers to review and express their idea of sexual orientation, body positivity and self discovery through a customized music instrument that forms lights and colors based on viewer’s interaction. The piece uses sounds and moving images to enhance playful synergy of participant’s expression to transmit a jovial way of engaging one’s sexual identity.
“Listen to Colors” is a collaborative work between Tara Dilloughery and Tuang T. Tara works on moving images that express the dream-like visual of human subject through her camera lens, while Tuang creates the interactive installation involves programing, MIDI, and code-animated graphic.
The artwork is a variable installation, customizable with physical environment.
Show
“Listen to Colors” has been showed at “Sexual Activities,” an outdoor interactive media art event organized by Open Plan Collective on June 15, 2019, in Los Angeles.
Artistic Documentation
Part of the concept and visualization of “Listen to Colors” is a dreamlike moment and steam of thoughts that we all experience individually and personally through desirable sounds. To project the artistic concept of surrealistic moment and illusion that happened within our mind caused by the sense of hearing, the work is recreated again in different locations. And, also to show the artwork’s variable installations and customization.
